About Us
El Tambre was established in 1990 with the inspiration of Brigadier General (RA) Enrique Gallego Hernández and his son Jorge Enrique Gallego. Both accomplished equestrians, their unwavering dedication to the sport, be it on national or international grounds, served as the driving force, to create an equestrian center and stud farm, a place where horseback riding could be passed down to future generations.
Situated near the small town of La Calera, El Tambre is located approximately 21 km away from the city of Bogotá. It is nestled in the stunning and picturesque Sopó valley, amidst the majestic Andes mountain range, at an elevation of 2,800 meters (9,266 feet) above sea level. Spanning across 37 acres, the facility boasts 70 stables, 4 training tracks, 2 jumping tracks, 1 Cross country track, and spacious and comfortable accommodations for riders and their companions, among other amenities.

From the basics of Pony Club and an introduction to Vaulting, to the intricacies of FEI disciplines such as Jumping, Dressage, and Eventing, we've got something for everyone. The Pony Club. without any doubt catch every bodies attention of any birthday party organized at El Tambre, the kids enjoy and have so much fun playing and to ridding our ponies. Many national an international companies have El Tambre as base for their coaching events, due to its meeting rooms, the logistic support offered, and its spectacular landscape and open spaces.
